Photos & Hair 411

Tonight I am sharing my first 6 days of shots for the February photo challenge:

Feb 1- your view today
I meant to get a fun shot in the mirror while I was getting my hair done, but it never works out the way you planned does it?  This is my spot in the back where I mix my color and that was my view many times that day.

Feb 2- words
A very thoughtful gift from a client that means more than she will know.

Feb 3- hands
My sweet Clairey Beary, showing me how old she is.
And because I couldn't decide which photo of her I liked better...

Feb 4- a stranger
I'm gonna call this photo "strangerS on the 91 freeway".

Feb 5- 10am
I was in the middle of a massive bathroom cupboards cleanout situation at 10am.

Feb 6- dinner
From the Hungry Girl cookbook, "I can't believe it's not sweet potato pie".  Made with butternut squash.  UN-believably tasty.

I also made panko/coconut crusted chicken tenders with a sweet and spicy apricot sauce.  And organic greens with tomato, goat cheese and Italian Tuscan dressing from TJ's. We all LOVED it.
The recipe for the chicken tenders I found on pinterest.  You can find it here.

And now for some hair 411.
I recently discovered a product by Kenra that I am absolutely in love with.
It is the Kenra Blow Dry Spray.  It is an advanced thermal protectant and it seriously smells better than any hair product you have ever tried.
I spray it on my damp hair as I blow dry each section.
A little goes a long way.
It adds so much shine, makes frizzies smooth, speeds your drying time, and protects your hair against all of the heat styling that you might do to it.
I've sold one to nearly every single client in the last two weeks.

I tried to take a few pics of my new ombre-ish highlights for ya.
Now, don't judge the color too closely ok because I promise they are not orange.  The light in the bathroom at night just sucks buckets.
IRL the colors are more of a caramely brown.  I also lightened up my root color just a tad.  I'm working on going a bit lighter, but I have been dark for a while so it is a process if you want to maintain the integrity of your hair.
See, they look more caramely here don't they?

Well, I'm off to watch Sea Biscuit on tv with the fam and drink my green tea with kamboucha.

Peace out ladies.

any other men out there reading my blog that I don't know about?

"I see things in pictures."

I will give you 1,000 make believe blog reading points if you can tell me what movie my post title is from.
And if you win, and honestly win, not google the answer win, then I will even let you pick my next blog post subject.  ;)

"I see things in pictures."

Did you guess yet?

Well, how bout if I show you some pictures while you are trying to figure it out.

Sorry no wiww post this week.  I started out with good intentions, but I honestly wasn't looking that snazzy all week.  Here's what I got:
That parsons chair used to be in my room.  I thought I would try it out where the girls toy box used to be which is now in the playroom.  Mr. H asked me, "What happened to the chair that was in our bedroom?"  I said, "You've walked past it probably 50 times today."  He said, "Where?"  I said, "It's in the west wing."
My blog friend Holly gave me these adorable coasters.  They make me laugh everytime I look at them.   (They're on the table next to the parsons chair.)
They make me want a cocktail too. :)
 I heart pumpkin pancakes.
I do not heart broken/leaky toilet upstairs that led to soggy/wet/dripping ceiling downstairs.
Found me a big ole bag of honeycrisps at Sam's Club yesterday.
I heart this photo.
I heart it a lot.
Nana's chicken for dinner Sunday night.  The smell is to die for.
Yoga practice in the backyard this afternoon after walking/jogging on the treadmill.
Our turn to bring snack to H's school tomorrow.

There you have it.

They are almost 5 & 3...

5 & 3 in November.
Just one month away.
I bought a baby gift for a friend today and it seems like a liftetime ago that I was buying burp cloths and size 1 diapers.
It's weird how your own kids seem to grow up so fast, and yet there are some days it feels like they will never be old enough to bathe themselves and fix their own hair for school.

Recently my friend Mel did a giveaway on her blog and I won DrewB's unposing guide!!
If you are not familar with Drew, you should definitely go check out her work.  I follow her on her photography blog, and her helpful Momtog blog.
In Drew's unposing guide she shared several super helpful tips that she has learned throughout her career as a photographer.
So one morning last week, I thought my girls looked especially sweet, and I ran downstairs to get my camera and try out some of those new tips.

And then I let them jump on my bed.
Crazy.  Beautiful.  Sincere.  Energetic.  Loquacious.  Almost 5 & almost 3.  Crazy.
I can't imagine life without them.
