Five (Outfits) for Friday

Heeeeeey.
It's the weekend.
Who's happy about that???

So since I did not link up for what i wore wednesday this week, and I know you all can't sleep if you don't know what I wore all week long, (hahahaha, i am kidding!) I thought it would be fun to share five outfits and link up with Janna for her Five for Friday linky party.

#1.  I think this was last Thursday- it was raining and I was SO happy to get to pull my Hunters out of their box!!!
 trench coat- Mossimo Target
striped long sleeved t- Merona Target
black cami underneath- BP Nordies
skinnies- Vigoss BP Nordies
rain boots- HUNTER
umbrella- idk, but i like it because i think it looks like burberry.
it's not.  but a girl can pretend can't she?
my assistant is sporting yoga pants from The Children's Place.

#2.  This might have been Friday.  Last week.
I know, not a fabulous outfit here, but I am just keepin it real and showin ya what i wore.
I was tiiiiiiiiiiiiiired.
So, I plopped a hat on my head, put lipstick on so I looked alive, and called it a day.
hat- gift from a store in Big Bear
striped henley- Old Navy
black velour pants- Juicy Couture (so old)
sweater uggs- Nordstrom
scarf- Vera Wang Kohl's

#3.  This was Tuesday, headed to Hannah's school for her pink sprinkled donut party.
I was looking down in between poses and this happened to be the only picture I liked.  So here ya go.  My new model pose.
shirt- BP Nordie's (couple seasons old)
jeans- Mek Nordstrom
shoes- New Balance by Heidi Klum
cute yellow rosebud hair pin- April @ Funky Vintage Lovely.

 #4.  Wednesday- headed to work.
top- Old Navy
skinnies- LC Kohl's
boots- Candies Kohl's ( I have some new tall brown steve madden boots that I am dying to wear, but I will not wear them to work because I know the one time I do I will ruin them with hair color.  Hate that about my job sometimes.)
and just for fun... here's a little flashback picture from April... same shirt... longer hair...
and back in April instead of wearing my boots I wore flats for a more springy look.
flats- Born Marshall's
Ahh, my long hair.  I do miss it.  But change IS good.  I am not minding the growout too much right now.
That was then, this is now...

#5.  Last but not least, today I wanted to put real clothes on (you know, not yoga pants, which I am always soooo tempted to do) but I wanted to be comfy because I had a busy day.
scarf- Target (i love this scarf! so soft and cozy)
shirt- F21
skinnies- Vigoss BP Nordstrom (so old)
sweater uggs- Nordstrom

My new jacket that I bought at the Nordstrom Sale came yesterday!
Do ya wanna see it????
 I love it.
It is a warm coat but not too heavy duty and the fur detaches on the hood for a different look.
I think I will get much use out of it.

And that's my five for friday!!

Happy Weekend to ya all.
Have fun.
Be safe.
And wear cute clothes.
;)

Five for Friday & Big Hair Video Tutorial

Hello hello and happy Friday.
I am linking up with Janna over at Denim and Dandelions.
Today I am sharing five things.
One of which, some of you have been asking for from me for quite some time now...
The reason I am getting this posted so late (as in on Saturday) is because the special surprise I have for you, might have been recorded in HD with my fancy schmancy camera and took about five hours to upload to my computer!!!

1.  First things first... just wanted you all to know that my pot roast that I made all by myself (alright and maybe with some help from my mother and P-Dub) turned out DEEEE-licious!  So tender, moist, flavorful, and melt in your mouth good.  I can't wait to make the other one that is in my freezer now.
If you were like me and scared of that big piece of meat, fear no more.  The pot roast is our friend ladies.  Easy, and yet I think still very impressive.  :)
I think I will be having leftovers for dinner tonight.  I'm kind of excitd about it.

2.  I know they say don't cry over spilled milk, but this morning I almost did.
Not the biggest deal I know.  But mornings just seem so crazy all the time.  Why is that?   Maybe because I'm usually the only one who can properly brush teeth around here, I don't know.

3.  I've had a couple questions about what kind of bronzer or tanner I use for my face.  I never tan my face, and in the winter I use self tanner in a bottle for my arms and legs sometimes, so of course I want my face to appear to have a natural and healthy glow too right?   These three things are my go to products to achieve that sun kissed look.
Nars bronzing stick- I think the color is called south beach.
Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer in sand.
And my absolute favorite, Mac's bronzing powder in refined golden
(and of course my bronzer brush)

4.  Several people have asked that I post a video tutorial on how I make my hair so big.
Well guess what?
It's your lucky day.
I will admit I have been nervous to do a video blog.
It just sounded kinda scarier than regular blogging.
What if you think I sound weird?
What if you are disappointed in the video?
What if you notice my double chins as often as I did?
What if you think my bathroom is a mess?
What if you think my hair is too big?
ha.  too big.  haha.
And it has honestly been hard to figure out how and when to do it.
BUT,
for you my friends,
I threw caution to the wind this morning and said here goes nothin'.
So,
please ignore the fact that I am tired and have gone to bed way too late every night this week and have sleepy puffy eyes.
And please ignore the fact that I am NOT a professional videographer and things might not always be in focus.
Mmkay?

Oh, and please ignore the strange noises in the background,
the girls were playing with toys that sing and also had their cartoons on tv so you probably hear all sorts of weird things.

Oh and yes there is laundry all over my bed.  At least it's clean.
Okay, here we go.  Video One:
note- sorry the size of the video is so small on my blog, but if you click on the bottom of the video once it has started to play where it says watch on you tube, it will be bigger.  :)

And roll tape again: Video Two:

Does anyone like seeing themselves on video??
Blah.
Not me.
I hope you did though.
Hope that answered some questions.
I will try my hand at this vlogging business again okay?
Maybe next time I'll be in focus.
Or maybe it's better if I'm not.
Remember ladies,
the higher the hair, the nearer to heaven.  ;)

5.  Thanks for taking the time to watch my first video blog.
What did you think of it????

I hope you have a happy weekend.  Don't forget to smile a lot.
And wear your hair big.

Happy Hair Days!

Five for Friday

My friend Janna is having her first linky party and I am linkin' up!
The theme is Five for Friday.
Any five things you want to share.
This week, I am sharing five OLD pictures.

1.  A cheesy Christmas (card?) picture from 2003 of Mr. Hass and I.
This was at our townhouse in Boise.
Our first home together.
And the cat...
I don't even like cats (I'm sorry cat lovers, I just don't), but it was a stray that kept showing up at our house and I couldn't let it just die so I started to feed it, and then it loved me, and so I named him Mr. Big.  (I was slightly obsessed with Sex and the City at the time.)
And don't even ask about the Santa hats... I don't know.

2.  Me snowboarding in Mammoth.
At the time I think I was going much faster than it now looks.  ;)
The rest of that hill looked like this...
That's Mr. Hass in the tan colored ski coat.  He's a stud on skis.
I miss snowboarding.  I can't wait to get our girls out on the mountain.

3.Found this picture from our visit to NYC in 2006.
I can't wait to go back some day.
Mr. Hass and I had a blast when we were there.
We saw Chicago and Hairspray on Broadway.
Toured the Statue of Liberty and Ground Zero,
went to a Yankees v. Mets baseball game,
a Sex and the City tour- so fun,
ate at Serendipity and had the famous frozen hot chocolates,
and so much more.
We will go back one day.

4.  A favorite picture of me and baby Hannah.
Oh, this takes me back to those sleepless exhausting first few weeks of motherhood.  This was actually on Thanksgiving.  Hannah's first holiday celebration.

5.  I've shared this older picture before on my blog, but it still makes me smile...
My sister and I carving pumpkins with my Dad in our garage.
Fun memories.
And there's that bad hair again.  You can read more about that here.
I think I was about 8 or 9 here.
You had a life size poster of Magic Johnson in your garage too in the early 90's right?

That's my five for Friday!

Several people requested the recipe for Nana's chicken from my last post.
Ask and you shall receive.  I will make it again in the next week or so and take pictures to share with you.  It's so easy you're gonna love it.

Happy weekend to ya all.
Ours will be filled with a trip to the salon (I have to work a bit), I might visit Kirkland's and see if anything needs to come home with me, a trip to Home Depot if there's time...   ;)

What are you doing?

Don't forget to hop over to Janna's and say hi!
And check out the other Five for Friday link ups.
