Sex and the City: The Movie!

My favorite show ever ever ever, (besides 90210 from back in the day) had it's final fairwell with a movie! It was so so so good! Better than I expected! Kelly took me for my birthday to see it last night. It is now after midnight on the 31st, but I am still awake from all of the excitement! We went to a yummy dinner at Macaroni Grill, and then headed over to the theater to get in line! We were one of the first in line so we got to pick our seats and we had so much fun. Kelly and I always have a lot of good laughs when we hang out. It reminds me of when we were kids and had nothing better to do than walk down Lincoln and go to Taco Bell everyday with the change we scraped up around our houses. Now we are all grown up, with husbands, and houses, and kids! But it sure is fun to get together and just be us girls again!
Thanks for a fun night Kel!

Here we are in front of my house. Kelly had the cutest top on. And I am starting to show my pregnancy belly a little.

Hannah wanted to join in on the fun, although she wouldn't look at the camera! Poor Kelly has a shadow of a leaf on her face! She looks good, even with a shadow on her face!

Finally, in our seats, waiting for showtime! What a good show!

GMC Acadia

I never did post a picture of my new car. This isn't MY car specifically, but it is just like mine. Mine is dirtier than dirty from the rain we had, and the back is all dinged up! ha ha ha. So, here is what a nice, clean, un-dinged one looks like.

Disneyland

This morning played out much better than yesterday morning did! Hannah went to bed at 7:15 and she was so tired from all the fits and crying she has done. She woke up crying at 5:45am and I thought, oh great, here we go again. So I waited to hear her jump out of her crib, and nothing! She fell back asleep, and I fell back asleep. (I don't think Jake was ever awake) =) Then we got her up when she woke up at 7am this morning! She never jumped out. Maybe it won't happen again? We'll see. But either way, we have a twin bed in storage so we will work on getting that out and setting it up in her room pretty soon.

We told Hannah that we will do more fun things when she sleeps until she is supposed to, and she is a happy camper. So today we took her to Disneyland. Jake had to go in to work at 2pm, so we left the house at 8:30, and we got there just before 10. I didn't forget my camera this time!!

Here she is watching Mickey Mouse, before we left to go see him!

On her favorite ride, the carousel. She threw herself on the ground and cried because she didn't want to get off her horse! If she had it her way, we would just ride the carousel all day long.

Jake was great entertainment for Hannah while waiting in line for the train ride. What a great Daddy! He really was having fun, it just doesn't look like it here.

I was holding our spot in line while Jake kept Hannah busy looking at Dumbo.

Back in line, patiently waiting. This was a different train than we did last time. This is the one right by the carousel and we won't do it again. It was pretty boring and Hannah was not amused.
Mommy and Hannie listening to the princess' telling a story in FantasyLand, or whatever land it is that the princess' live.

Hangin' out at Goofy's house in Toon Town!

Water squirts out of this hose, and as always, Hannah is fascinated by water.
More water. Taking a break after getting off of Roger Rabbit's car toon town ride. It was dark with lots of twists and turns. I could not tell if Hannah enjoyed it, and at the end she clapped! After this it was time to head home. We drove thru In-N-Out on the way home and had a yummy burger while Hannah was fast asleep in her crib!

The Escape Artist Becomes Professional

Hannah is no longer "learning" how to climb out of her crib. She has learned! Yesterday at my Mom and Dad's house I put her in Noah's old crib to try and get her to take a nap. She was very tired and cranky from waking up too early yesterday. She refused to nap over there, and I hid out in the hallway and watched her climb out of the crib over and over again! She seems to have many different methods. First she put both hands up on the rail, swung one leg over, pushed herself up, and then pulled the other leg and just dropped to the ground. Ouch. That method kinda hurts. Then she did a handstand in the crib and clipped one leg to the top of the rail, then shimmied the rest of her body up and flipped over. Then she got real smart, and figured if she turns around backwards and drops her body down the other side of the rail, she has a much shorter drop to the ground and she lands upright! Why me? Why does she have to learn this now!!
So, last night Jake got home from Iowa, and he got to experience in the fun. 5:45AM, here we go again! Hannah wakes up, cries, no one comes to get her, so she jumps!! Jake went in her room and said no Hannah, it is time for bed still, and put her back in her crib. She jumps again! and again and again!
I think we are in for a few EARLY mornings, and some late nights in the weeks ahead. But we will win this battle! We will prevail, we will not back down!

Up and Out....AGAIN!

This morning Hannah woke up and started screaming at 6AM! WAY too early for the likes of me. Sometimes she does this and goes back to sleep, so I made no motion to go get her. Then the screaming continued and got louder and louder. How am I supposed to sleep with all of this ruckus? I am making a person! I need my beauty sleep. I might have been slightly alarmed by this behavior if it weren't for the fact that Hannah has been throwing fits and acting like this ALL weekend! Did I mention that Jake has been gone since Friday morning too? He flew to Iowa for his Grandfather's funeral, so I have been here dealing with the fits (and the biting, but that is a whole other story), all on my own.
Alright, alright, I realize there will be no more sleep this morning. As I make my way sleepily down the hallway I heard the THUD, and I knew she jumped again! I opened the door, and there she is, crying, on hands and knees where she landed. We have a twin bed in storage that my Aunt and Uncle were nice enough to pass down to us. I guess it is time to get it and buy some big girl bedding. I am apprehensive about this. What if she learns she can get out whenever she wants? Oh no....

Do Blondes Really Have More Fun?

I got my hair done on Monday and I added a bit more blonde than I usually have. It was kind of shocking at first, but it is growing on me. Although I know that I will so desperately hate my dark roots in about 6 weeks. Blonde is fun. I am ready for summer. Now all I need is to find the time to get a tan!

A Quick Morning Swim

I should have posted this after the following post, so read that first. After my Mom left and we finished our doughnuts, Hannah walked to the door to the backyard, pointed and did her whiney voice, which means she wants to go outside. I still needed to clean up after breakfast, so I let her out back, and I was watching her through the kitchen window. I suddenly hear a splash and I ran outside. I did not remember that there was still a little water in her play pool. Good thing it wasn't very much. Hannah went right in, pajamas and diaper and all.
Oh well, I thought maybe it will help get the hot chocolate stain out of her shirt!
What a stinker
Hmmm, should I go in that pool too?
Later on that day, all dressed and cute.

My Birthday Morning

Going back to Tuesday morning, I thought I would share some cute pictures. My ever so sweet Mommy came over at 8am and brought doughnuts and coffee (coffee for her, hot chocolate for me). Hannah had already eaten her eggs and bacon, but she somehow saved room for some hot chocolate and a maple bar!

I made sure the hot chocolate was only mildly warm and I poured some in a cup for Hannah to try. Well, she was all excited, but I think she was expecting cold chocolate milk, so it startled her that it was warm and she spit it all over herself! As you can see by looking at her shirt.
So Mom suggested we add ice cubes and cold milk to it. Way to go Mom. She loved it! I think she thought it was a mocha frappucino!Oh this is so so so so so yummy!
Want a bite??

Up and Out

I was sound asleep at 7:30 this morning, and woke up quickly to Hannah crying as if she were hurt. I jumped out of bed and ran to her room. When I opened the door, she walked right up to me! Oh no! She's learned how to get up and out of her crib by herself! I wish I saw how she did it. I am not sure if her tears were because she hurt herself jumping out, or if she couldn't get her door open and cried because she wanted OUT! I guess we will see if she remembers that she can do this now.... Oh boy!

My New Car...

Last night Jake and I bought a new car! Well, a used car, but new to us! We bought the Acadia we had looked at over the weekend. After they detailed it we could not believe how nice it looked. It's a 2007 and it was a rental car for a few months and then auctioned off and it has been sitting at this car lot in Chino Hills for 91 days. We sold our VW Touareg to Car Max and they told us that if you are buying used, it is great to buy a rental because they have to prove that it has been serviced as needed. Where someone else could have just skipped the needed maintenance and how would we ever know? So it was really in great shape, low miles and they cleaned the interior scuffs and scratches so well you would never know they were there! I will include a picture later... last night we got home late and were really tired. And I would have taken a picture today BUT...
This afternoon Jake was having my brother follow him down to Car Max to drop off the Touareg. Drew was driving the VW and Jake and Hannah were in the new Acadia. Jake calls me at work and says, "You will never believe what just happened to me". I said "Good or Bad?" Bad he says. "Someone just rearended me!"
"SHUT-UP!" I say. No, no joke. He was rear ended in our brand new car that I hadn't even driven anywhere yet!!! Thank God Jake and Hannah were both safe. Hannah didn't cry at all, but Jake got out of the car and had a few things to say to this guy! They were on the 91 freeway and Jake saw him coming and knew he wasn't looking, changed lanes, and didn't see that Jake and the other traffic in front of him had stopped. Crap.
The guy admitted fault immediately, but also begged Jake not to call Highway Patrol, which our insurance agent (Rita Sandor with Mercury Insurance) suggested we do. So the police get Jake's info, go to get this guys info, and then come back to Jake and say that this guy had been driving on a suspended license with several duis and failure to appear in courts and many other traffic violations, and they are going to impound his vehicle. At least he had insurance and the damage done to our car will be paid for by him.
Jake was so mad, but I said everything happens for a reason. Thank goodness no one was hurt, and a car is just a car. We'll fix it up and move on, but maybe this happened to get this guy off the road! He might have been drinking when he hit Jake and Hannah! Or maybe he was going to drive drunk tomorrow and kill someone! Now he has no license and no vehicle, so maybe something bad was prevented by what happened today.

Swimming in the Spa

Yesterday it was hot hot hot! Jake and Hannah and I went to Chino Hills to look at a used GMC Acadia. We have been thinking about trading my car in for something bigger and less expensive to maintain. Right now I have the VW Touraeg. We love it, but this year alone we have already had to have it in the shop for 5 different things! And I like that the Acadia has a third row. With another baby on the way it will just allow us more room in the car. So anyway, we went to go look at this one. We liked it. Very nice, only 15,000 miles on it. It needed to be detailed so they are doing that today and Jake and I are going to go back tomorrow night to see how she cleans up. And tomorrow happens to be my birthday so maybe I will be coming home with a big birthday present!
After our car shopping we were so hot and exhausted. Later that night we went to my parents to hop in the spa and let Hannah play and cool off. She loves the water. And when she is not in the floaty boat in the spa she can touch the bottom! I can't believe she's that tall. We've got to start swimming lessons very soon!!

Disneyland

Well yesterday I had the day off! I usually work every Wednesday and Jake watches Hannah all day. Weeks ago, I decided to take the day off and go to Glen Ivy for my birthday (on the 20th) with my Mom. Then on an impromptu trip my Mom wound up flying to New Mexico for the week with my Grandma to take my Great Grandma to visit her sister. So, I reconsidered Glen Ivy and decided that since I am now entering my 2nd trimester and I don't quite look pregnant yet, I didn't want to hang out in my bathing suit all day feeling fat and gross. ha ha.
So Jake and Hannah and I decided to get some use out of our passes and go to Disneyland. And wouldn't you know it, I thought I was so prepared for the day, had everything we might need from sweatshirts, to sunscreen, snacks, drinks, diapers, change of clothes for Hannah, but we forgot the CAMERA! Argh! I was so mad.
We had a great time! The weather was perfect. We walked right into the park and got on the train. Which Hannah loved and now says "too-too" which is supposed to be choo choo! We did the carousel, and Jungle Cruise too. That one is a little old for her still. She was a little nervous on that ride. Then we had lunch and headed over to CA Adventure. I had never been there before. It was fun. Jake did a rollercoaster. (I couldn't do it, just one more fun thing you can't do when you are pregnant!) Hannah played in the "jumping water". There are lots of spots where water streams jump up out of the ground. She loved it until a stream landed right on top of her head! Luckily Mom brought an extra shirt! We dried off and then saw a live playhouse disney show which she loved. And a muppet 3D show, she liked until something jumps out at the screen and she had her glasses on to see it and she cried. We left after that. Fun day. Sorry no pictures!

A Happy Healthy Hass

This morning Jake and I took Hannah to her 18 month check up at the pediatricians. She did so well today! One shot and not one tear or cry! That's my girl. Big girls don't cry. The Dr. said she is humongous! Growing rapidly off the charts. She weighed in at a healthy 29 lbs. and is 36" tall! I hear that if you double a girls' height at 18 months it will give you an accurate estimate to their adult height. I think Hannah will be taller than me and maybe even 6 feet! What a knockout she is going to be! I will have to beat the boys away with a stick.

In the following pictures, you will see that Hannah has her baby nearby in almost each one. I think she is practicing how to be a big sister. We have been telling her that there is a baby in my tummy and pointing to where it is. I tell her that it is little right now, but is going to get bigger and bigger. She either has no idea what I am talking about (which I am pretty sure is the case), or chooses to ignore me and pretend that this is not happening to her. However, she has been very interested in playing with her babies lately. She will share her sippy cup with them, and give them the pacifier, or cover them with her blankies. It is so cute to watch. How do kids know to do that stuff?

I think they are going to the grocery store...
Oh no, wait a minute....
She's left the baby unattended in the cart! We won't let that happen to the real baby....
I just had to include this pic of Punky in her cute pj's from Aunt Monica and Uncle Mark.

There's her baby again. What a good Mommy, she's taking her to the park!

I think they're on their way to Target now! =)

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all of those hard working MOMS out there! My Mother's Day has been nice, but very quiet. This morning Hannah (and Jake) had a nice present for me. They got me a gift card to Nordstrom, and a new vanity tray for my perfumes (mine is broken), and a heating pad (which I wanted). Jake got us doughnuts for breakfast, and then he headed off to work.
These are a few shots of Hannah playing in the backyard today.

Doing some sidewalk chalk...
Do you like her earth friendly tee shirt? Go Green!

Her new favorite spot to play in the back is in Abbey's doghouse. Abbey doesn't like to use it, so it's clean!

Curious Little Girl

Today Hannah is exactly 18 months. She is really changing a lot right now, and learning lots of new things. She has recently been eating with a fork and spoon! She does particularly well using her fork with macaroni and cheese. Don't get me wrong, it is still quite a messy dining experience, but she is learning the basics. She's not quite ready for dinner at Fleming's just yet!
A few months ago Jake installed a permanent gate at the top of the stairs. It has made life much easier when we are up with Hannah, and don't have to worry about her falling down. So what we usually do, is shut the bathroom doors (because she loves to play with the toilet water), and she can pretty much roam around up here. Well tonight we were getting things ready for Hannah's bath and I heard Jake come upstairs and say "Oh NO! Hannah, NO!" She had climbed into the tub in our bathroom (there was no water in it, she just likes that she can climb in on her own) and taken a HUGE bite out of the bar soap in the soap holder! She obviously did not like it, and had spit little pieces of it all over the tub. Hopefully she learned her lesson!! Oh to be 18 months old...

Another Fun Day at Tom's Farms

Yesterday afternoon after I got home from work and Hannah woke up from her nap, we went to Tom's Farms again. It is such a fun place to go on the nice warm weekends. We met our friends Tawny and Joe there, and their daughter Samantha who is turning one this month! We ate outside by the pond and enjoyed sub sandwhiches and beer (well, the boys had beer, I had sips) =) Last time I took Hannah to Tom's we didn't get to ride the carousel or the train because that is only up and running on the weekends. The carousel pics are out of order here, but she had a blast riding it! Jake rode with her and every time they came around Hannah had the biggest open mouth smile on her face!

Hannah was saying hello to her friend Sammy when we got there. She is such a cutie pie!
There's that fun pond again! Hannah just doesn't understand why she can't swim in it!
Thanks for taking a family photo on the train Tawny!
The Paino Family having some fun on the train!
Here she comes around again!

Hannah and Sammy checking out all of the animals at the petting zoo
She loved the train almost as much as the carousel.

Hannie and Daddy
Look at how much taller Hannah is than Samantha! They are only 6 months apart! When we got on the train, they charged us for Hannah and didn't charge Tawny and Joe for Sammy! No fair! I guess there are some disadvantages when your child is taller and people automatically assume they are older as well! It's hard to believe she's still a "baby'!
