My Weekend in Blackberry Pictures...

Happy Monday.
Who's smiling because it's Monday?  Anybody?
So I was lazy this weekend and did not want to tote my slr along everywhere I went, so I didn't.  It really is handy to just take pictures on your phone sometimes.  I am due for an upgrade next month and I can't wait to get a nicer phone with a little bit of a nicer camera on it too.
Here's what I wore on Saturday night for my wiww friends.  :)
I have been icing my shins a lot.  I decided to take two weeks off from running and see how they feel when I start back up next week sloooooowly.  Darn shin splints.  So this last week I was doing the elliptical at the gym, and Jillian's shred and yoga meltdown at home.  When I do the shred dvd some of the cardio moves really bother my shins.  I hope they feel better next week.  I am thinking about going to Road Runner to maybe get new shoes too.  We'll see.
Remember these are phone pics, not slr pics.  Hope you're not disappointed.  When Mr. H got home from work on Saturday we loaded up and headed west.
We went to my Great Uncle Johnny's surprise party for his 60th.
It was at a fun pizza place that John's step daughter Donna and her husband own called Out of the Park.  They had a neat room outside for the party with a band (who was really good), and lots of heaters because it was chilly.
This is Uncle Johnny with tears in his eyes.  He said he was very surprised.  (Surprises seem to be the thing this year.   It's only February and we've already been to three surprise parties!)
Starting at the end and going in a circle to the right this is my sister, my Grandma, my Nana, my Uncle Mark, Hannah, Mr. H, my nephew Noah, and Aunt Monica.
A blackberry self portrait of Mr. & Mrs. Hass.
The girls thoroughly enjoying their cake, fireside.
Me and my cousin Don.  You remember Don right?  Remember he's so old now 30 now, and I am not yet.  Do you think I look younger?  Don has been training for a marathon and he ran 20 miles Saturday before the party.  Twenty!  Craziness.  And I was so proud of myself for running 2.5 a couple weeks ago...
Somebody (my sister) had the same boots on as me.  That's okay.  I guess she has great taste.  ;)
I ordered these BIC bands and they are awesome.  They hold your hair so good and stay in place.  BIC stands for Because I Can.  I run because I can, for those who can't so that one day they can.  They donate part of the proceeds to a different charity each month. I read about them on Skinny Runner's blog and am so happy I did.  They're so fun and cute.  I wore one to the gym this morning and it made going to the gym a little more exciting I think.  ;)  The ones I bought ranged from $7-$10.
Yesterday the girls helped me bake a pizza for lunch, and then afterwards they made brownies for dessert.  Things got a little messy but they had fun.
Last night my brother came over so we could escape to a  movie.
We saw Just Go With It.  It was cute.  Funny parts.  It only made me that much more excited for when we go to Hawaii.

We also watched The Social Network this weekend.
It was good.  Better than I thought it would be.  I thought Jessie Eisenberg did a really great job (he plays Mark).  Here's my thoughts on the movie though...
I don't believe everything I hear.  I don't believe everything I see or read, therefore I do not consider this movie to be entirely nonfiction.
I don't really think Mark Zuckerberg is the *ss that they portray him to be in the movie.
I do wonder what really happened between Mark and Eduardo Saverin.  Did it have to do with Sean Parker?
I read an article that said the real Sean Parker was outraged at the way his character was portrayed in the film.  He says that the movie is completely fiction.
The article says,
He particularly dislikes the scene where he writes a check to Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin:
“The part of the movie that frustrated me is actually the scene at the end where the character played by Justin Timberlake — who happens to have my name — basically writes a check to Eduardo – who I’m also, I consider Eduardo a friend of mine, and I’m one of the few people at Facebook who still interacts with Eduardo – and throws it in his face and has security escort him out of the building. And I mean, that’s just rude. This guy in the movie is a morally reprehensible human being.”

So.  My thoughts?  Do I think Mark Z is a horrible person?  No.  Do I believe every part of The Social Network to be truth?  No.  Did I enjoy the movie?  Yes.  It was entertaining.
So be sure to scroll past this post and check out the funny snl skit with the real Mark Z, and the actor Jesse Eisenburg who plays Mark in The Social Network, and the always funny Andy Sandberg.  I don't know why but I could not get it to upload on the same post as this.  Sorry friends.

Until next time...

What's In My Bag

I've seen a few people in blogland share what's in their bag recently.
I thought it was cute so I thought I'd share too.
My bag is a recent find at Marshall's.  It is a B. Makowsky bag.  I LOVE his bags and this is my first one.  I could not pass up the opportunity to own my own Makowsky.  Mr. Hass completely understands.
Inside the bag- my eyeglasses, my sunglasses, and my wallet.
A notepad and pen, nail file, gigi hill business card holder, body spray, and a make up bag filled with girl necessities, and pumpkin spice lotion, and extra hairbands, and bobbi pins, and ibuprofen, and immodium, and band-aids.
hairspray (very important), Mojo Clif bar (very good), blackberry, tissue, and a princess nail polish.  Not quite sure why that is in there.
More essentials: gum, hand sanitizer, and stuff to make me beautiful .
And there you have it.  Now you've seen inside my new Makowsky.

Want to peak inside another bag?
I needed to get some new sports bras so the girls and I went to Sports Authority this morning.  I gave them goldfish crackers, and fruit snacks to keep them quiet while I shopped as fast as I could.
This is my loot.  Everything was on sale too.  Woohoo!
The pink striped shirt was from Marshall's.  We went there too.
And Shelbie if you are reading this, thanks for the tip about the champion sports bras.  I splurged on one.  Now I won't get a black eye when I run.  (wink wink)
And because I promised, here's a few pics of what I wore yesterday to work.  I guess I've lost my self portrait picture taking talent because these were awful.  I couldn't get my head, the picture was never straight, and hardly any were in focus.  This is tough stuff to take pictures of yourself people.  I hope you are happy with these.  :)
Just keepin it real though...

This is what I look like today.  No glam here.  I am trying to workout and stay on top of it, so on a day when I don't work and the only place I really have to go is Hannah's school and back, I'm probably going to look like this.  And who want to see pictures of that?

I better run.  Stuff to do.  Laundry to fold.  Mahi mahi to make.
Hope you're having a great day.  Thanks for stopping by and checking out my bags.

What's Cookin' Good Lookin'?

So I thought I'd start today's post off with a picture of mua.
In the salon one day.
I just didn't want ya to be suffering from Genn's WIWW post withdrawls.
I've been asked by a few blog friends if I have quit wiww.
I don't know.  I'm sure I will do it again, but I just started to get kind of sick of taking my own pictures before I could leave the house.
Maybe I'll just start throwing in random pics of me and what I wore in my everyday posts.
Would that be cool?
Or is that lame and you want wiww back?
Dad, I know you would like to see some more wiww action on this ole blog wouldn't ya?

Alright moving on.
To the kitchen.
I found this book a couple months before Christmas at Barnes N Noble.  I sat down, flipped through it, and had to have it.  I bought it for my mom and my sister for Christmas because I knew they had to have it too.  It is by two busy moms who love the healthy options that Trader Joe's has to offer.  Every recipe has a picture and notes on where to find the ingredients in the store and stuff.  Good stuff.
Last night I made these Artichoke Stuffed Portobellos.
Oh. My. Word. They. Were. To. Die. For.
Seriously.
Mr. Hass said our house smelled like an Italian restaurant.
They were SO easy and SO good.  I have to share them with you.

You will need:
4 portobello caps (stems removed)
1 14oz can artichoke hearts
1 cup refrigerated Fresh Bruschetta Sauce (from TJ's- this stuff is AMAZING)
1/2 cup bread crumbs (I used panko bread crumbs)
Basil cut into ribbons (optional)

1. Preheat oven to 400.
2. Drain artichoke hearts and give em a rough chop.  Squeeze any excess water out of them.  Combine artichoke hearts with bruschetta sauce, bread crumbs, and parmesan.
3. Divide mixture between portobello caps and press lightly to compact filling.
4.  Place portobellos on lightly oiled baking sheet for 12-14 mins.  As soon as you see water being released, remove from oven and serve immediately.  Garnish with fresh basil.

Tonight Mr. Hass was working but I still wanted to cook something easy and quick.  So I tried the 5 Minute Shiitake Fried Rice from my TJ cookbook.
The recipe didn't call for any meat but I added a few strips of Trader Joe's Just Grilled Chicken Strips.  Have you seen these?  They are pre cooked, seasoned, with NO preservatives or anything added.  They are pretty good.
It really did only take about 5 minutes.  And it was good in a pinch.
I got a good movie rec for you my friends.
The Town.
Ben Afleck.  Jeremy Renner.  We liked it.
Ben directed it.  Nice work Ben.  Well done.
(You know he reads my blog.)  ;)
The girls are still recovering from their colds.  Hannah had a nasty one and Claire's tonsilitis seems to have just rolled right into Hannah's nasty cold.
I hate when they are sick.  Hannah actually napped today though.
I like when they nap.

One more thing before I go...
This is my cousin Don.  You can read more about him here.
(He's holding Baby Claire.  Isn't she cute?  She was 5 months old.)
I just wanted to rub it in his face that he is older than me wish him a very happy birthday month.  Don turned older than me 30 last week on the 16th.
Thanks for paving the way Don.  You know I love you.

The moral of this post:
Go cook yourself some portobello mushrooms... watch The Town... and if you see my cousin Don- tell him he's older than me Happy 30!

My Weekend & Meeting The Radovich Family

 Hi there.
How was your weekend?
Ours was good.  Busy.  And flew by way too fast.

Thanks for all the sweet comments on my post about being so moody.  It helps to know I am not the only one who wants to run away sometimes.  ;)  My mood has improved since then.  It's always better after a weekend with Mr. Hass around.

Here's a picture of Mr. Hass and I on Saturday night.
We went to Kelly's surprise party for her 30th at Citrus Grille.
Me & Kelly.  Kelly's sis Sara took this one on her iphone.
Didn't Mr. Hass look dapper?
He's sporting his new man sweater I bought for him.
And I'm sporting my new $15 dress from Old Navy.
I jazzed it up a bit.  Do you like?

Besides working, eating good food, drinking good wine, and celebrating this weekend, wanna know what else I did?

Yesterday I got to meet up with this good looking family.
Tiana is a good friend of my sister's.  Tiana and Brian just had their first baby girl, Madelynn and asked if I would take some pictures for them.  I was so honored to be asked.  It was obvious that they are both quite smitten over their beautiful baby girl.
I love this one with her eyes open real wide.  She was so precious and Tiana had her dressed so cute.  She even had little fur boots to match her dress.

Thanks so much for the opportunity to photograph your family Tiana!  It was a lot of fun.
