Scenes from around here.

It's been a week since I blogged so I figured I better.
This time of the year has been busy.
Hannah is almost done with school and Claire finished up her last day of speech today until we hear about when her summer school sessions will begin.
Hannah is quite proud of her lost tooth.  She is looking so tall and grown up to me these days.
Claire picked out this musical mircophone stand with a gift card to toys r us recently.  She is so drawn to anything having to do with music.
I'm kinda into wrist bling right now.
Dinner prep.  That larger sliced bell pepper was from our garden!
This picture makes me laugh.  Clairey sashaying across the house.  Such a diva she is.

Me heading to work yesterday.  Wearing the new dress/tunic I bought at the N sale.  But that wasn't on sale.  Go figure.

After I got home from work I put together the girls' teacher's gifts.
I was only going to do three; one for Hannah's teacher, one for her dance teacher, and one for the school director.  And then Claire piped up and said "What about my ee-cher (teacher)!"  Nice save Claire, I hadn't even thought about her speech teacher, but she saved the day.
I filled mason jars with pretzel m&ms and stuck a gift card to Starbucks in each one.

Claire was so excited to give it to her ee-cher.
I'm so proud of her.
She has been working really hard at improving her speech.
Well that is it from me for now.
I'm out.

Nordie's Finds and some other random stuff.

Well hello there.
 Happy Friday to ya.
I'm happy about it because Mr. Hass is off work this weekend.
We have a couple of fun things on the sched... farmers market, trying out a new pizza place with friends, hopefully a movie date for the grown-ups, and who knows what else!  What movies are even out right now??? What should we see???

So I realized that I never told my blog buds what Mr. H got me for my birthday...
The Michael Kors runway watch that I have been drooling over.
I just love it.  A couple people have asked about where it is from... He bought it at Nordstrom but I am sure any department store that sells MK would have it.

Speaking of birthdays and birthday gifts...
BIG shout out to my sista Erika because today is her 29th birthday!!!  AND a big shout out to my sister in law Karen because it is her 30th birthday today!!!

Lots of you mentioned how you wanted to see what I picked up at the Nordie's sale, so this is for you...
I was running low on my favorite eye makeup so I picked up a new bare minerals shadow quad.  I love their eye shadow!

I was hoping to find shorts at the sale, which I did, but only one pair was on sale.  The hat was a fun find for only $12!  The longer shorts are by Vigoss brand which I love, and the shorter ones are by See Thru Soul.

This sundress caught my eye, was not on sale, but I had to try it on.
And of course I loved it and thought it would be so comfortable and fun for summer, so I also went and grabbed it in black.
And here is a not so great shot of me in the dressing room trying it on...
This next dress I plan to wear with cropped black leggings.  It has a cinched waist that I will probably wear with a belt, and the fun part, it has pockets.
I also bought this pair of shoes but I am thinking about returning them...
I think they are cute and super super comfortable.  I'm just not sure how much I will wear them.  And they are 3 3/4 inch of a heel, which at 5'9 that makes me pretty tall.  Hmmm, I'm just not sure, what do you think blog buds????? yay or nay???  I thought they'd be cute with the sundresses I bought because those are really long too.  Oh what to do what to do...

In some other news...
Mr. H bought us an 8 bottle temperature controlled wine storage.
I won't tell you how much money we spent on wines in Napa, but we had 8 bottles and we did not want them going to waste so this was the perfect solution.

Yesterday Hannah had her last dance performance with the Creative Movements class that she has taken at her preschool for the last three years.
This was the first time she seemed so much older and bigger than all of the kids to me.  I think she is ready to move on but she had a lot of fun in this class and Claire can't wait to do it in the fall.
They did the cutest little dance with umbrella props and it was so fun to watch.
Hannah was excited that Gamma came to watch, and her Daddy and Geeps even snuck out of work for a while to come and see as well.

And do you notice that gap in Hannah's bottom teeth there???
She lost her first tooth on Wednesday.
Thank goodness I was at work, because from what I heard, Mr. H helped it come out and Hannah kinda freaked out when she saw there was blood.  She woke up at 4am on Thursday and came running into our room to tell us that the tooth fairy had come.  :)

I'm off to have lunch with my sis for her birthday.
Happy Friday to you all!!!

My 31st...

And so another year has come.
Yesterday I turned 31.
When I turned 30, my sister gave me a pin that said 29'ish.
I told Mr. Hass that I think I will wear that pin for the rest of my birthdays from here on out.
It was a nice day and the only thing that would have made it better was if Mr. Hass didn't have to work.
But despite that it was still a great day.
My parents knocked on the door first thing in the morning with coffee and doughnuts in their arms.
The girls went nuts over that.

Then later we got dressed and my Mom watched the girls so I could go peruse the aisles of Target all by myself.
Very lovely.

I got to have a nice chat with my girlfriend Kelly who dropped by while Claire was napping.

When Mr. H got home we met up with my family at Mi Tortilla for dinner, and then Yogurtland for a tasty dessert.  I don't like birthday cake, so yogurtland sounded much better to me.

Before we left for dinner I tried to get a decent family picture.
Here's shot #1...
At least Claire is kind of smiling, and Hannah looks so happy to be there doesn't she?
And shot #2...
This time Claire's eyes were closed, and Hannah still looks ever so happy.  Oh well, that's real life right?

I wanted to show ya a couple of my Target finds...
I've been wanting to get a globe and I liked the size of this one.  The girls have been having fun learning about the Earth.
And that fun looking clipboard also opens up with a storage folder and notebook inside.  And since I love organization and list making, I had to have it.  :)

A few more pictures from the day...
Diana, Mom, Me, and Erika
Mr. H and I at dinner
Claire and I at Yogurtland

And a picture of some of my fun birthday goodies...

Aren't those bowls so pretty?  My Grandma got me this gorgeous set with a serving platter and matching bowls.  I told her it reminded me of scenes from Napa.  I love it.
I also got some mighty fun gift cards!
And how lucky am I that the Nordstrom sale begins just three days after my birthday???  You can guess where I will be on Wednesday morning!
My very sweet friend Jenny sent me this super cute summer bag.
You know me well Jenn.

And I LOVE my garden gnome from my Mom and Dad.  He is watching over my garden to keep the bugs away and to help it grow.  I think he's a lucky gnome! ;)

I received lots of nice phone calls, and texts and facebook and instagram messages from so many friends and family.  Thank you thank you!!!! You all made me feel so loved on my 31st.

One more thing before I go tonight.
Hannah, Claire and Mr. Hass came running up to my bedroom tonight to tell me some VERY important news...
Hannah has her FIRST loose TOOTH!!!
She was so excited and I was so happy for her.
I'll admit, made me a bit sad and I wanted to say, "what the heck, first you learn to ride your bike with no training wheels, then your first loose tooth, enough already!"
But really, she has been asking us when is she going to get to lose a tooth and when will the tooth fairy visit her and now she knows it will be any day now.
She is thrilled.
It's so fun to watch my kids experience all these fun firsts.

Alright, now I'm outta here.
Mr. H and my dvr are waiting for me.
And he doesn't know it yet, but The Bachelorette is on tonight too!
heehee.

Night all!

Today. And Hannah's New Trick

Today...
...I woke up to my alarm at 6:40am (cause you know, 6:40 is way better than 6:30)

Today the girls had honey nut o's and watermelon for breakfast.
I got the girls dressed and ready,
I showered and threw on some work out clothes.
Threw a banana in my purse and poured more coffee over ice for myself.
We were out the door at 8:30 to take Hannah to school.
Then Claire and I drove straight to Target to return something.
Then it was off to Claire's school for speech therapy.
After speech little Miss Claire and I shopped at Trader Joe's.
After Trader's we came home, unloaded groceries quick and then hopped back in the car to go pick up Hannah from school.

Hannah was thrilled to show us the motorhome she made at school.
The school has been collecting boxes for a project and all the kids made different things.  I cracked up that Hannah made a motorhome.  She used three boxes for her project and I was so impressed.  She was quite proud.  It was mismatch day at her school today and she got a kick out of that.  Notice the pink bow and purple bow?  Some kids were creative, one girl had one messy pig tail, and one in a braid.  It is mismatch again tomorrow and we might get a little crazy with it.  ;)

The girls ate sunflower seed butter and jelly sandwhiches for lunch and I had a super spinach salad from TJ's that might be my new favorite thing.
It had quinoa, carrots, tomatoes, edamame, dried cranberries, chickpeas, pumpkin seeds, and a ginger miso dressing atop baby spinach greens.  It was so good.

I did a little yoga today.
I say a little because just as I popped in the dvd Claire came out of naptime in a lovely mood and trying to be zen like and do yoga while listening to your kids fighting just ain't my thang.
Hence, only a "little" yoga.

For dinner tonight I made these shrimp tacos.  Recipe from pinterest and after my friend Sarah said they were great I couldn't wait to try them.  You were right Sarah! So tasty!

And the most exciting news of the day...
This cute girl, in her mismatched clothes and Barbie knee and elbow pads, has mastered the art of bike riding with no training wheels!!!
I was shocked at how quick she took right to it.
Mr. H worked with her for the first time yesterday while I was at work.  He said she got on, and said to him "okay, okay, I got it", and she just took off.

She was so excited to show me her new tricks on her bike this afternoon.  Today she learned to turn, and brake with the pedals or using the handle bars.
And why oh why are these pictures making me teary eyed, but they are.
First kinder registration,
then parent orientation night,
then her sister and her get all signed up for two weeks of summer vacation bible school,
then she takes her training wheels off,
before I know it she will be going to prom with a boy,
and then moving out and starting college.
Don't blink.
Ain't that the truth.
Gulp.
I hope you chase your dreams Hannah, but first, just be happy being a kid, and riding off on your bike into the sunset.
