A Taste of Summer & A Party with Ponies

Last week we had a watermelon salad with feta and mint.
There was a lot leftover, so I threw it in the blender, added 2 Tbsp of coconut sugar, and made the most delicious watermelon mint pops I've ever had.
I thought the feta might make em taste weird, but not at all.

We have lots of little green tomatoes popping up on our cherry tomato vines.  I'm hoping no critters get them before we get to eat them!

I bought a new colorful outdoor rug at Walmart.

A few of my instagram pics from last week...
Play time with our fun neighbor friends.
Friday all the kinder classes had their end of the year luau.
After I took Claire to preschool I came back to help out.
The kids had so much fun.  They had water games, sack races, limbo, and a bbq lunch on their beach towels followed by a visit from a snowcone truck.  They were all loving it and I had to practically drag Hannah away so that we could go pick up her sister from school.

Yesterday the girls and I went to the cutest birthday party for their friend Sky.  Sky and her sister take riding lessons at this place in Norco and they don't normally do birthday parties.  But my friend Crystal used to be a party planner before kids, and she talked em into having one for her daughter.  They had the cutest set up with a bounce house, cowgirl hats and horseshoe decorating, pony rides, and all the snacks sweet little girls love.  It was so cute and Claire declared that "This is the best day ever!"
I thought Claire might be a little timid of the horses, but she was actually not at all, and she hammed it up for me and my camera!
They had Hannah on the biggest horse and she was actually a bit more timid at first than I thought.
Too bad that pic is blurry.  It was hard to get a good one of Hannah.  I think her horse was trotting along a little faster than Claire's was!
The girls came home filthy dirty and exhausted.
Always a sign of a good time!
Today we are off to Build A Bear for the first time with Hannah's girl scout troop.  It is their last official meeting of the year.

Hannah's Point of View

I don't think I took one picture all weekend, so it made me smile when I sat down today to flip through the pictures on Hannah's camera that she captured from Mother's Day.  That girl is so smart and so funny, she is always making me smile.

The girls and Mr. H let me sleep in on Mother's Day and then they surprised me with coffee and breakfast in bed.
When I made my way downstairs I was greeted with flowers, and a banner, and presents!
They sure did make me feel loved.
And it makes me smile thinking how Hannah was documenting it with her pictures while I was still in bed.  So cute.
(I took this photo, not Hannah)
Mr. H knew I wanted a new pair of rainbows, and he tricked me by wrapping them in the box from Claire's new razor scooter.  I had no idea what was going to be in that box!
Inside I also found the movie Safe Haven which we watched last night.  I did enjoy it, but hated how it was so different from the book.  I guess in most cases you just always love the book so much better.
The girls also helped Mr. H wash and detail my car.
Feels like new again!
(I love Hannah's perspective in this picture of Mr. Hass)
We headed out that afternoon to meet up with my family at Miguel's Sr. in Dos Lagos for an early dinner.
Texting the fam that we had arrived.
 Deciding which margaritas to get.
(Don't worry I took this photo too)
We went with the Skinny Caddie.
Hmmmmmmmmm.

We had a nice time and after dinner we stopped into Sprouts for a few things quick.
I didn't even know that Hannah had brought her camera into the store, so I was cracking up when I saw all of her Sprouts shots.
I love it.
I think she's a natural.
Maybe I should start having her guest blog for me since I can't seem to get my act together and blog regularly anymore.

I am so lucky and so thankful to be Mommy to these two beauties.

And in another bit of Mother's Day related news:
I have a niece!!!!
Isla Ann Hass was born on Mother's Day morning!!!
We are so happy for Dustin & Karen and are SO excited to fly out there and meet that sweet baby girl!
The girls already said "I love my new Baby Girl Cousin."

That's all from me today.
We're off to grill outside since it is 100 degrees today.
Peace Out.
